Enabling the unit of measure

To enable the use of sales units of measure, use the Application Properties form in the Business Center

  1. Sign in to the Business Center with tenant administrator credentials.
  2. Select Application Setup > Application Properties.
  3. Specify this information:
    Ordering.Multiple Units of Measure

Specify true to display only one unit of measure.

If you specified true in the Ordering.Multiple Unit of Measure field, then specify false in the Ordering.Select Ordering Unit field. Enabling both application properties is considered an incorrect setup that can lead to inaccurate unit of measure.

Optionally, use the Use Sales UOM for Ordering to specify the users who can purchase items in a different unit of measure than the base unit of measure. This feature element is in conjunction with the Ordering.Multiple Unit of Measure.

    1. In the Business Center, select Application Setup > Roles.
    2. Click the name of the role whose users can order items in the sales unit of measure.
    3. In the Feature Elements section, select the Use Sales UOM for Ordering check box.
    4. Click Save. The users who are assigned to the role can see the sales unit of measure next to the Quantity field on the widgets related ordering when they are signed in to the web shop.
    Ordering.Select Ordering Unit

Specify true if the user is allowed to select an alternate unit of measure on the Item Details page.

If you specified true in the Ordering.Select Ordering Unit field, then specify false in the Ordering.Multiple Unit of Measure field. Enabling both application properties is considered an incorrect setup that can lead to inaccurate unit of measure.
Ordering.Include Base Unit in Unit Dropdown
Specify true to display the base unit of the item in the unit drop-down aside from the sales unit and alternate units. This is the default value.
Specify false to not display the base unit of the item in the unit drop-down. The base unit of the item is still displayed when the base unit is the sales unit in the Business Center or configured as an alternate unit.
This application property is in conjunction with the Ordering.Select Ordering Unit.
    Ordering.User Default Ordering Unit
Specify true to pre-select the sales unit of measure on the web shop.
Specify false to not pre-select unit a unit in the drop-down on the Item Details page. The View details button and a message that indicates when you can order an item in different units of measure is also displayed on the browsing pages on the web shop.
This application property is in conjunction with the Ordering. Select Ordering Unit.
    WebService.OrderLine WebService Method
Specify the web service to use to retrieve pricing information from the ERP. You can specify CatalogPrice or OrderLinePrice. Set the value to OrderLinePrice to for ERP to do the calculations. We recommend to use this value when using the multiple units of measure feature. If you set the value to CatalogPrice, this uses manual calculations which may display inaccuracies in the total price.
  4. Click Save.
