Shopping cart and ordering

Customers can use different methods to add items to the cart.
Depending on how you configure the Business Center, customers can add products to the shopping cart in these ways:
  • From the Product List and Search Results pages.
  • From the Product Details page.
  • With item numbers or customer aliases in the Quick Order Entry widget.
  • With a file upload in the Quick Order Entry widget. The file upload can contain item numbers or customer aliases.
  • From previously placed orders. Customers must place all items in a previously placed order in the shopping cart. They cannot choose individual items from the previously placed order.
  • From template orders. Customer must place all items in the template order in the shopping cart. They cannot choose individual items from the template order.

If you use modular quantities for any of your products, you can set up your website to recommend quantities to your customers. You can also require customers to order products in the correct modular quantity.

After customers add products to the cart, they can add note at the header or order line level. To add a note, customers click the Add Notes link. If an existing note is longer than a single line, customers click the More link to view the entire note.

To specify a separate shipping address or shipping date for the same item in an order, you can enable the Feature Element called Allow Multiple Lines per Item. This feature is enabled by role.
