Setting up modular quantities

If you sell items in multiples, such as in multiples of two or five, you can notify customers if they specify an incorrect quantity. For example, if an item is sold in multiples of three, and the customer specifies 5 in the Quantity field, then you can display a notification that informs the customer that the item is sold in sets of three and recommends an appropriate order quantity.

After you set up modular quantity notifications, they are displayed in the Product Details page, Quick Order Entry, Order File Uploads, and Template Order Details page.

You can also require that customers order items in the correct multiple quantity.

  1. In your ERP, ensure that you have specified modular quantities for items. The field in the ERP that you use to specify modular quantities must map to the ItemMaster/ItemLocation/SalesParameters/OrderIncrementQuantity xpath in the ItemMaster BOD. If your ERP does not map information to this xpath, then you cannot use modular quantities on your website.
See the Cross BOD Mappings and Descriptions document for your ERP and Rhythm for Commerce. This document is available on Infor Xtreme with the other documentation for your ERP.
  2. In the Business Center, specify one of these values in the Items.Enable Modular Quantity Check tenant application property:
    Option Description
Recommended The modular quantity and a recommended order quantity are displayed, but customers can add any quantity to the shopping cart.
Enforce The modular quantity and a recommended order quantity are displayed, and customers must specify a correct quantity before adding the item to the shopping cart.
False Information about modular quantities is not displayed. Customers can add any quantity to the shopping cart.
An Infor representative must complete this step for you.
