Controlling access to websites

You can control the ability to sign in to your website at these levels:
  • User segment
  • Market
User segment and market are entities that are used to classify users and customers in the Business Center.
Note: If you do not want to control website access by User Segment or Market, you can remove the tabs. See Removing permission control tabs.

Users who do not have permission to sign in to your website can see your home page, but cannot sign in.

  1. Sign in to your website as a tenant administrator or site editor.
  2. Open the Site menu.
  3. Select People > Rhythm Site Access Management.
  4. Optionally, select the Enable Redirect check box. Users who attempt to sign in to a website without permission are redirected to a site that they do have permission to sign in to. If the user is not allowed to sign in to any of your websites, the sign in fails. If you change the check box setting, click SAVE.
  5. Click SITE ACCESS CONTROLS.
  6. Each Rhythm Commerce entity that can be used to control access to your website is displayed in its own tab. Click the tab of the entity that you want to use to control access.
  7. Select the entity that can access your website. For example, if you are viewing the Markets tab, select the market that can access your website. You can choose only one entity per website.
  8. In the Site Access Controls dialog, click SAVE.
