Adding configurable products to the shopping cart

Customers use the Infor CPQ modal to configure products.
If a product is configurable, a CONFIGURE button is displayed instead of the ADD TO CART button on these widgets:
  • Product Compare Sticky Bar
  • Product Details
  • Product List
  • Product Recommendations
  • Promotional Items

When customers click the CONFIGURE button, the CPQ modal is displayed. The information that is presented in the modal depends upon the ruleset that is defined for the product in CPQ. As customers make selections, the product image and price are updated. Customers can click the Details tab to view how each of their selections contributed to the price.

To add the configured item to the cart, customers click Finish. If the customer has selected a valid configuration, a notification that indicates that the item has been added is displayed. If the customer has not selected a valid configuration, a notification that prompts the user to reconfigure the item is displayed.

Configurable products in the cart

In the shopping cart and mini-cart, customers can change the order quantity of a configured product or delete the configured product. Additionally, customers can copy and edit configurations of configured products from their cart.

There is a revalidation interval of 1 hour upon accessing the shopping cart and mini-cart.

Customers cannot use quick order entry or order file upload to add configurable items to the shopping cart.

Copy and edit feature

When customers click the Copy link, the CPQ modal is displayed. The configurations of the configurable product that the user is copying from are preselected on the modal. Customers can update the selections and click Finish. The newly configured product is added on a new line with a new configuration ID.

When customers click the Edit link, the CPQ modal is displayed. The configurations of the configurable product that the user is updating are preselected on the modal. Customers can update the selections and click Finish. Changes are reflected on the configurable product.

Copy and Edit links are also available on the Template Order Details if the Manage Template Order feature element is enabled on the user's role.

Save configured products in an order template

Customers can save configured products in an order template by clicking Save Items as Template. The order template is saved in the Template Orders tab. Customers can edit and copy the orders in this tab. Customers can view configurable items in Order History and add configurable products to the shopping cart by clicking the Reorder button.
