Setting up the download of documents from the Generic Download widget

The connection between Rhythm Commerce and IDM must be established before you complete this procedure.

You can use the Generic Download widget to allow customer users to download any type of document from IDM. Consumer users who have self-registered cannot download documents from the Generic Download widget.

  1. In the Business Center, assign a user to role with the Generic Document Download feature element.
  2. In Rhythm Portal, add the Generic Download widget to a web page. A site editor must perform this step.
  3. In Rhythm Portal, configure the widget. A site editor must complete this procedure. The site editor can specify this information:
    Header Name
    Each language that you use on your website is displayed. For each language, specify the text to use to label the widget.
    Document Type
    Specify the type of IDM document that can be downloaded from the widget.
    Key Attribute
    Specify the IDM attribute that uniquely identifies the document.
    Customer Specific
    If the document is specific to each customer, such as a contract, select the Enable check box. Specify the IDM attribute to use to uniquely identify customers.
    Column Headers
    Specify up to three columns to include in the widget. You must select a value in the Main Identifier field.

    If you select File Name, Date Modified, Created Date or Internal ID in the Main Identifier field, then you can specify whether to sort the documents by the main identifier in ascending or descending order. The sort order you select is the default sort order. Web shop users can change the sort order of the main identifier.

    If you do not specify a sortable identifier in the Main Identifier field, then the documents are sorted by file name in ascending order. Web shop users cannot change the sort order.

    To display additional columns, slide the Enable Attribute switch to Yes, and then select the IDM attribute.
