Visibility rules

These visibility rules ensure that when you make a specific item or category visible, customers can still drill down through the category hierarchy to find it.

  • Explicit category visibility implies item visibility:
    • If a category is explicitly visible, then all of its sub-categories are also explicitly visible.
    • If a category is explicitly visible, then all its parent categories are implicitly visible.
    • If a category is implicitly visible, then all its parent categories are implicitly visible.
    • If a category is explicitly visible, then all items within that category are implicitly visible.
  • Explicit item visibility implies category visibility:
    • If an item is explicitly visible, then the categories containing the item are implicitly visible.
