Search engine optimization for product details

Product information in your web shop is now optimized for search engines. This enhancement makes it easier for customers to find information about your products.
This product information is now tagged and can be exposed to web crawlers:
  • Product names. Product names are used as the link that users click to open your web shop from a browser search. It is also used in the browser tab.
  • Product images. The thumbnail image is included in browser search results.
  • Product long description. The long description is used as the snippet text in the search result. If a long description is not provided in Infor PIM, then the long description that is available for a product in the Business Center is used.

Only products that are included in the guest user's assortment are included exposed to web crawlers.

As part of this enhancement, the hash tag (#) fragment separator that is used in the product list and product details page has been replaced with /-/o/. This change was made because Google cannot index URLs that include hash tags.
