Order guide

In the web shop, customers can now add items to the shopping cart from an order guide.

An order guide is a group of items that your customer regularly orders. The items in the order guide are displayed in a table. A site editor can specify the item information that is displayed in the table.

Web shop updates

In the web shop, two new widgets are available: Order Guide List and Order Guide Details. A site editor places each widget on its own page.

The Order Guide List widget shows a list of the order guides that are available to the customer. The customer can search the list by order guide name and sort it by order guide name and date modified. Customers with permission to manage order guides can delete them if they are no longer used. The customer clicks the View Details link to open the Order Guide Details page.

In the Order Guide Details widget, items in the order guide are displayed in a table. A site editor can select the columns to include in the table, the width of each column, and how to sort the columns. Optionally, the site editor can also group the items by the first and second column in the guide. Customers use the order guide to add items to the cart. Customers who have permission to manage order guides can click the Delete Order link to delete the guide.

Business Center updates

In the Business Center, these updates are available:
  • In the Application Properties form, use the Ordering.Order Guide application property to activate the feature.
  • In the Role Details form, use the View Order Guides feature element to specify who can view the order guide list and details.
  • In the Role Details form, use the Manage Order Guides feature element to specify who can edit and delete order guides.
  • In the Application Details form, specify the frequency with which prices are refreshed in order guides in the Order Guide Price Refresh in Hours parameter.
  • In the Bulk Update form, the Order Guide type is now available. Merchant administrators can upload order guides for one or more customers.

Limitations

These limitations apply to order guides:
  • Order guides are available in the desktop view only.
  • Style, configurable, and spare part item types are not supported.
  • Product availability, visibility, stock, and price based on a selected warehouse and accounting entity are not considered in the order guide. These details are evaluated in the shopping cart and checkout.
  • Unsellable and unavailable items are not supported.
  • The base price and final price after discounts are displayed.
  • Multiple unit of measure conversion factors are not displayed.
  • Job-specific blanket agreements are not supported.
