User selection of markets

In the web shop, guest users can now select the market that they want to view.

To select the market, guest users use the new Market Selector widget. After the guest user selects a market, the web shop is updated to show the items that are available in the market.

If the guest user does not select a market, items from the default market are displayed.

When guest users create consumer user accounts, they select the market for their accounts.

After registration, the consumer user can change the market. If the consumer user adds items to the cart and then changes the market, the items in the cart are checked to ensure that they are available in the new market.

The user must enable cookies to use this feature.

Activation

Use Rhythm Portal and the Business Center to set up this feature.
  1. In Rhythm Portal, create guest users. Sign in as an administrator or tenant administrator, and create users. Assign guest users to the Rhythm User role in Portal. Do not associate the user with a customer.
  2. In the Business Center, associate the guest user with a market. In the Consumer Users form, click the name of the guest user that you created. In the Market Details field, select the market to associate with the guest user.
  3. Sign in to Rhythm portal as an administrator or site editor. Configure the Market Selector widget:
    • In the Configuration section, select the checkout page and the welcome page. The widget is not displayed on these pages.
    • In the Guest user's email section, specify the email addresses of the guest users that you would like to use to build the list of markets. Click the Add button to specify additional email addresses.
