User administration
Use the Portal configuration to specify whether customers can create their own user profiles. To allow customers to create their own profiles, set the Allow New Profile attribute on the node of the Portal configuration to True.
The Billing Portal also supports personal identification numbers for extra security. There are two different attributes in the Portal configuration that can be used:
- Use Pin on the node
- Show Pin on the node
The Use Pin attribute under the Portal User node takes precedence.
Use the Contact InfoViewer in Operations and Regulations to assign PINs to customers' contact identity records.
Confidential contacts
To protect contacts' privacy, you can mark contact records as confidential in Operations and Regulations. You can then configure the Billing Portal to prevent confidential contacts from registering for user accounts.
To indicate that a contact is confidential, select the Is Confidentiality requested check box in the Contact InfoViewer.
To prevent confidential contacts from registering, use the Prevent Confidential Contacts from Registering attribute on the node in the Portal configuration.
See Portal User node.
