Notifications

The notification functionality in Infor Operations and Regulations is used to send automated text or email notifications to users of the Rhythm for Civics site.

For example, users are sent notifications when they create new profiles or when they change their passwords.

Note: By default, the Billing Portal uses the same account activation and reset password notifications as the CDR Portal, but you can optionally specify alternative notifications to use for the Billing Portal.

Customers can select additional notifications that they want to receive when they create a profile, or when they update their accounts on the Profile and Preferences page. Customers can subscribe to these notifications:

  • Send reminder for bill due
  • Send reminder for direct debit

To receive a notification, the user must select a notification type and a notification method.

Note: The notification methods that are shown depend on which methods your agency has configured. For example, if email notifications are not configured, then only SMS notifications can be selected.

To enable notifications in the portal, set the Use Notifications attribute on the Setup node of the Portal configuration to Show.

To send SMS text messages and emails, you must define your agency's email and text settings. Both of these are configured in the Hansen8 configuration of the associated Infor Operations and Regulations site.

Use the EMAIL node of the Hansen8 configuration to specify your agency's email settings.

For text messages, Infor Operations and Regulations uses Twilio. Use the Twilio node under the NOTIFICATIONS > Providers node to specify your Twilio account settings.

Note: Twilio is a third-party application, so you must create your own account. There is a small charge for every text message that is sent using Twilio.
