Customizing text

Most of the text that is displayed in Rhythm for Civics is stored in XML files that you can download and modify. After you edit the XML you can upload your changes to customize your site.

For example, you can edit field labels, messages, and tooltips. Your customizations are stored separately from the defaults, so they won't be overwritten when Rhythm for Civics is updated.

To download the XML files, click Rhythm Translations Override in the Control Panel. You can then click Download to download a zip archive containing the XML files.

When you're ready to upload your changes, zip the edited XML files. Click Choose File on the Rhythm Translation Override page and browse to your zip file. Then click Upload.

Note: The same translation overrides are used for both the Rhythm for Civics CDR Portal and the Rhythm for Civics Billing Portal.

For example, you can edit CIVICS_INSTRUMENT_SUBMIT_en_US.xml to customize the text in the Add Instrument widget. The same widget is used in both the CDR Portal and the Billing Portal, so any changes that you make will be shown in both portals.
