Generic filter codes

The filter codes that you define for Infor Public Sector in Filter Code Setup can now be used in Rhythm for Civics as well.

The purpose of filter codes is to limit the values that are available for certain fields. An Infor Public Sector database can include large numbers of different codes, so you can use filters to keep the options to a manageable number. For example, you might want to limit the available work type or occupancy type codes for a building permit application based on the application type.

Filters are defined based on business object properties, but page controls in Rhythm for Civics interact with data models rather than interacting with the business objects directly. Additional setup is required to apply filters in the portal. In Filter Code Setup, you can use the new Portal Setup tab to enable a filter for the portal.

Portal Setup tab in Filter Code Setup

To configure a filter for the portal you must first specify the portlet, or widget, that the filter applies to, such as the Add Instrument widget. You must then specify the model and property to use for the condition, and the target that the condition applies to.

  • The Portal Model field specifies the data model that the filter applies to.
  • The Condition Property specifies the property of the data model that is used to filter the values for the target.
  • The Target field specifies the page control whose values are filtered.
