Special instructions for CDR inspections

The Request Inspection and Inspection Detail widgets are designed so that a customer can securely send special instructions to the inspector when requesting an inspection.

This information is stored in three special instructions fields on the inspection record. These fields are available to all users in the back office, but in Rhythm for Civics they are only visible to the customer who submits an inspection request.

These are the special instructions fields:

  • Contact Person
  • Contact Information
  • Instructions

For example, the Contact Person and Contact Information could be used to specify a person other than the applicant for the inspector to contact, and the Instructions field could provide instructions for accessing a property.

This can include sensitive information such as access codes for security barriers, because these fields are not shown to the public, or to any customer other than the one who is requesting the inspection.
