Using Levels (1-6) tabs

Use the Level tabs to configure a location's parking into various schemas such as Terminal, Lots, Rows and finally the Stalls. By default, Level 5 and Level 6 tabs are Inactive and can be set to Active as per the business requirements using the Slotting Level (SLOTLV) global codes on the Global Codes page.

Note: Level 1 tab is always enabled. Level 2 tab and other Level tabs are only enabled if you focus on a record in each prior adjacent level tab, in sequential order.

To create the schema for a location's parking:

  1. Select Fleet > Lot Management > Level (1-6).
  2. Specify this information:
    Slotting Level
Specify the slotting level such as Lots, Rows or Stalls.
    Name
Specify the name for the slotting level.
    Lot Type
This field is enabled when the Slotting Level is Lot. Specify the Lot Type such as President Circle, Mid Size, Gold, Five Star and so on as defined in Global Codes screen for Lot Type (LOTTP) global code. For levels associated under a Lot, the field is also enabled, and system defaults the Lot Type value currently defined on prior / parent tab for the focused record.
    Levels Associated
Select this check box if there are further levels that are associated under this level that you want to create. For example, a Location may have a Lot which has no marked rows or numbered parking stalls. In this case, you can just create a Lot which has the Levels Associated check box unchecked, and indicate how many parking Stalls exist in the overall lot using the Capacity field. But, if you have marked rows and/or numbered stalls, then this Levels Associated check box must be selected for the Lot level so that you can associate levels under it for the Rows and/or Stalls in the later Level tab(s).
    Next Level Count
When Levels Associated check box is selected, this field is displayed and shows the count of records on next level tab, even if 0. When Levels Associated check box is clear , this field is not displayed.
    Sequence
Specify the sequence based on which the vehicles are slotted in this level.
    Capacity
This field is protected if Levels Associated check box is selected. For a stall this field is set to 1.
    Type(s)
This field is enabled only for final level records, the records for which the Levels Associated check box is clear. You can specify the type such as Electric, Telematics, Wash and so on. You can specify additional Type(s) on the Global Codes page using the global code Slotting Level Types (SLLVTP). You can specify more than one type at a time.
    Reserved
If Slotting Level value is Lot, this check box is disabled and selected by default by the system. The setting for this check box is forced down to Levels below it, for example, rows, stalls, receive the updates to this check box. When Lot Type value is Reserved, this check box is protected and Selected by the system. Operationally, the setting for this check box is:
    • Considered in the Rental screen’s Vehicle field’s lookup. If Reserved check box is Clear, system does not show the vehicle slotted in that stall in the lookup list.
    • Sent as a Vehicle attribute to CPQ when system is running either the Batch Pre-Assign or Batch Pre-Rent jobs, for rule consideration.
    • Sent similarly to CPQ for evaluation when CPQ Recommends a vehicle in the Rental screen for assignment.
    • This Reserved setting has nothing to do with whether the vehicle is already in the Pre-Assigned or Pre-Rent status against another rental agreement (RA). If a vehicle is in Pre-Assigned or Pre-Rent status against an RA already, the vehicle does not show in the lookup or sent in inventory to CPQ for consideration, regardless of the Reserved setting of the stall of where it may be parked.
    • For Ultimate Choice Locations where Vehicle Assignment is Lot: This Reserved setting is only used when CPQ requests inventory due to special requirements of the rental agreement. In this case, system filters out vehicles which are slotted in lots for which Reserved check box is clear, similar to lookup; and unlike non-choice case where no filtering occurs and system just sends the Reserved check box as an attribute.
    • Furthermore, for Ultimate Choice case - Unless CPQ requests inventory, the CPQ business rules use the data setup in Lot Type Vehicle Mixes screen to recommend / assign a Lot, regardless of the actual inventory currently slotted or the attributes of the lots/stalls.
    Use for Slotting
If this check box is selected, this level is considered for recommendation in the Request Recommendation button of the Stall Request/Confirm screen. This level is not considered in the query for what shows in the Vehicle lookup list in Rental screen. On Level 2-6 tabs, the system defaults the Use for Slotting selection currently defined on prior / parent tab. You can change the value although changing the value on the prior/parent tab does not cascade down to levels under it.
    Use for Assignment
By default this check box is selected by the system and indicates that this level is used by CPQ for assigning vehicles which are currently parked in the slot/lot to a reservation - either in batch jobs or for recommendation in Rental screen. If the check box is clear, any vehicle slotted in this level is not sent in CPQ’s inventory for consideration. This level is also considered when system is evaluating the supply of vehicles (against the demand of upcoming reservations) during Stall Request Recommendation. This level is not considered in the query for what shows in the Vehicle lookup list in Rental screen. On Level 2-6 tabs, the system defaults the Use for Assignment selection currently defined on prior / parent tab. You can change the value although changing the value on the prior/parent tab does not cascade down to levels under it. For Ultimate Choice case, system does not utilize this attribute unless CPQ requests inventory due to special requirements of the RA ( instead of using Lot Type Vehicle Mix data).
    Blocked
If you select this check box, system does not count this level in the Vacant/Occupied data that system sends to CPQ during Stall Request Recommendation process, and therefore cannot be a parking recommendation either. In addition, vehicles parked in blocked stalls do not show in the Vehicle lookup in Rental screen. Similarly, CPQ does not receive these vehicles for consideration when running either the Batch Pre-Assign or Batch Pre-Rent jobs, or when recommending a vehicle in the Rental screen for assignment. On Level 2-6 tabs, the system defaults the Blocked selection currently defined on prior / parent tab. You can change the value although changing the value on the prior/parent tab does not cascade down to levels under it. For Ultimate Choice case, system does not utilize this attribute unless CPQ requests inventory due to special requirements of the RA (instead of using Lot Type Vehicle Mix data).
    Fleet Location
Specify the location of the fleet for the purpose of fleet maintenance. By default, the value in this field and the Fleet Location field on Level 2 tab is populated from the Fleet Location field on the Location tab. You can change the value.
  3. Click Submit to create the record and add it to the list.
  4. Alternatively, click Actions > Batch Stall Creation to quickly create a batch of Stall records at once. This pop-up allows you to set Starting Value, Ending Value as well as provide an optional Prefix value. You can select Apply Skipping check box to indicate to the system to skip every other integer value in the range provided. Only 100 records can be created in a batch at a time by the system. You can create multiple batches.
