Creating users
Use the User ID page to create and update system users for specific user groups.
To Create users:
- Select Administration > Security > Users.
- Click New Record.

Specify this information:
- User ID
- Specify a unique code identifying the user, and then enter a description of the user in the adjacent field. The description is usually the user’s full name.
- Language
- Select the default language for the user.
- Menu Definition User Group
- Specify the user group to which the user is assigned.
- User ID Expiration Date
- Specify the date on which the User ID expires.
- Password
- Specify a six to twelve character password
for the user. The system masks the password with asterisks as you
type. Caution:After a set amount of unsuccessful attempts to log in, the system will lock the User ID and Password. At this point, the system administrator or another authorized user must unlock the user record.
To unlock the user record, open the User IDs form, which will display the Unlock User button (under normal circumstances, the Unlock User button is hidden). Click the Unlock User button. The system will unlock the user and hide the Unlock User button.
- Password Expiration Date
- Specify the date on which the password expires.
- Locale
- Select the locale of the user.
- Session Timeout (minutes)
- Specify the amount of time in minutes in which the system will timeout.
- Alerts and Locator
- Specify which alert and locator type traces to display to the
user in the Pickup, Return
and Vehicle Reservation screens. Note: Alerts and Locator are used to notify the user that the renter must be alerted to important information or the location of someone when they approach the service location staff.
- Success Msg. Timeout
- Select the amount of time in which success messages will timeout.
- First Screen
- Enter the code identifying the function to which the system defaults when the user logs in to the system.
- E-mail Address
- Enter the user’s e-mail address. The temporary password is sent to this email address in case a user is locked. You can specify the email content in the Text tab of LOGIN screen record in the Screens page.
- CTI Agent ID
- Specify the ID value that the agent uses to log into the telephony system. This ID helps in linking the correct CTI (computer telephony integration) ID for ACD (Automatic Call Distribution) to the appropriate ResRent user ID.
- Global Location Manager
- Select to grant the user access to the location management configuration functionality.
- Cash Manager
- Select the check box to allow the user the privileges of a cash manager.
- Sales Manager
- Select the check box to allow the user the privileges of a sales manager.
- Screen Designer
- Select if the user can set up the appearance of screens.
- Allow Dataspy Edits
- Select to allow the user to edit Dataspies. This will enable the Edit Dataspy button.
- Allow Dataspy Advanced Filters
- Select to allow the user to set advanced Dataspy filters.
- Infor ResRent
- Select the check box to indicate that the user is a ResRent user.
- Infor ResRent Connector
- Select the check box to indicate that the ResRent Connector is available. ResRentConnector is the Web service license.
- Default Currency
- Select the default currency for the user.
- Default Startup Module
- Select the default startup module for the user.
- Language Display Rates Configured in Currency
- Select to indicate that the system display the properties rates configured in the selected currency.
- Populate Location List
- Select the check box to display the rental locations associated
to the user on the initial screen. By default, this field is
hidden.Note: If not selected, the user must perform a location search for locations to display.

Click Save.
Note: Click Unlock User to unlock locked users and make them active in the system.
