Hierarchy extraction types

After you have created a hierarchy, you have the option to extract the column.

The level you select specifies the level at which hierarchy results are output in your report. Results are displayed for child nodes of the root node.

These extraction types are available:

  • Drilldown: Extract data from the level of the children of the root node (Level 1). For example, show a summary of all child nodes at that level.
  • Current Level: Extract data from the current level only, without breaking out data from associated nodes.
  • Level 0: Extract the Root level data from the top level Parent Node.
  • Levels 1-N: Extract data from the first level and all child nodes associated with it, down to the N level. A summary of extracted data is provided for each level.
  • All Levels: Extract data from the current level and all child nodes associated with it. A summary of extracted data is provided for each level.
  • Terminal Nodes: Extract data from the hierarchy leaf nodes only, which are represented at the base level of the hierarchy. No summary data is shown.

The default extraction type is set to Drilldown, meaning a high-level result.
