Differences between Q&A Cloud and Q&A on-premises

There are some differences between Query & Analysis Cloud and Query & Analysis 11.3 on-premises environments.

New features

These new features are included in Q&A Cloud:

Formula syntax The syntax in Q&A Cloud is different to Q&A 11.3.
Users Q&A Cloud user records are maintained using IFS in Infor Ming.le. The web-enabled user management function in Q&A 11.3 is not used.

Functions removed

These functions are not available in Q&A Cloud:

Utilities The Utilities menu includes Migrate, Offline Formulas and Hierarchy Designer.

These functions are not available:

  • Product tasks. Used in Q&A 11.3 for administration tasks that not applicable to Q&A Cloud.
  • Formula Import. Used in Q&A 11.3 to duplicate a formula in a worksheet and transfer a formula to another application.
  • Changing passwords. User passwords are maintained in Infor Ming.le.
Datalink Server utilities These functions provide user and server management features for Q&A 11.3. User management for Q&A Cloud is carried out in Infor Ming.leand server management is carried out by the Infor Cloud Team.
Excel plugin utility The plugin utility is not used by Q&A Cloud.
Web-enabled user management User management is carried out in Infor Ming.le.
User mapping The same user accounts are used for Q&A Cloud and SunSystems Cloud.
Clear User Logon User management is carried out in Infor Ming.le.
