Alert tasks

If the task has been scheduled, you can view the event details in the Schedule section.

Right-click the event details to edit or delete them.

Use the Alert Task Definition dialog box to create a task, or to manage the processes that make up your task. You can also specify whether other users can manage or execute your task.

These are the two sections of the Alert Task Definition dialog box:

  • Task Details: Use this section to provide information about the task, such as a description, and whether other users can modify it.
  • Processes: Use this section to manage the task processes.
Note: The CommandLineProcess parameter in the web.config file on the Q&A DataLink Server controls whether command line tasks can be added, edited and run. See the Query & Analysis Configuration Guide for details.

Show shared tasks

When you create an Alert Task with the option Allow other users to view, schedule or execute this task, the task is shared. This enables you to switch between your own tasks and tasks shared by other users.

To see all shared tasks, select the Show shared tasks icon.

If you cannot see any newly created tasks that were created by yourself or others, then click the refresh icon. This retrieves an updated list from the Q&A DataLink Server database.
