Reconfiguring service positions

When an address service’s meter positions need to change, you can reconfigure them by deleting and re-adding the address service, then selecting the correct meter positions for billing.

For example, you might need to reconfigure the meter positions in these situations:

  • A service needs an additional meter that is associated with a neighboring address.
  • A meter position that is currently included should not be used to bill the service.

To change the meter positions used for an address service, you must delete and then re-add the address service. Re-adding the service provides the opportunity to select which meter positions are used for billing.

To delete an address service, open the address in the Address InfoViewer and delete the service on the Services tab.

On the Positions tab, make the required updates, such as updating the number of meter positions.

Then re-add the service.

See Adding a service to an address.

  • Deleting the service stops it on any accounts currently using it.
  • Saving the re-added service adds the reconfigured service to active accounts and scheduled move-in accounts at the address.
  • On the Manage Account page (BMA), you will see the original service as Stopped or To Stop and the newly configured service as Started or To Start. The old configuration remains on the account.
  • At the next bill run, both services are prorated for the number of active days.
  • If you added a new meter position, install a meter at that position as needed.
