Inspection indexes
Operations and Regulations uses the results of inspections to calculate indexes based on formulas that you define. Typically, an index formula calculates an asset's condition based on inspection data, such as the type, quantity, severity, and location of observations that were recorded.
For example, when defining an inspection type for brake inspections of vehicles, you might add an index that generates a value of 1 (pass) or 0 (fail) based on the degree of brake pad wear and other brake measurements taken by the inspector.
Operations and Regulations can also perform actions based on inspection data. For example, an index formula might automatically create a work order to replace brake pads that are worn below a certain point.
After you define indexes, use the Inspection Types form to associate them with inspection types. When an inspection is performed, Operations and Regulations calculates all associated indexes and performs any actions that might be indicated by the index formula.
