Auditing address fields

While you are editing address field mappings, you can validate address data in selected GIS attribute fields against the corresponding fields in Operations and Regulations. This ensures that a consistent set of values is displayed in these fields for all address records. For example, you may want to validate street suffixes to ensure that all addresses use the same abbreviations.

  1. Open the O&R Address Mapping window.
  2. Under Validate Address GIS Field, select a GIS field from the Address field list.
  3. Select the Operations and Regulations field that corresponds to this field from the O&R field list.
For example, to validate street suffixes in the GIS table against the Operations and Regulations database, select Suffix from the first list and SUFFIX (string) from the second one.
  4. Click Audit Address Fields.
GeoAdministrator checks the values in the specified field in each database and shows the results in a dialog box. The Mismatched values grid shows each value in the GIS table that isn’t found in the Operations and Regulations table. The Contents of O&R Code Table grid shows each value for this field that exists in the Operations and Regulations table.
  5. To change a mismatched GIS value, select the value in the Infor PS table that you want to replace it with and click the arrow button between the two lists. The selected value is displayed in the Alternative column in the Mismatched values list.
  6. Click Replace to update the values in the GIS table with the selected Operations and Regulations values.
