Splitting a parcel in GeoAdministrator

In this example, GeoAdministrator will be used to split a parcel into two parcels. To begin, launch GeoAdministrator, log in, and select the parcel to be subdivided.

  1. From the ArcMap toolbar, start editing and select Cut Polygon Features from the Task drop-down. Ensure that the Target list shows the parcel layer to be edited.
  2. Click the Sketch tool to start editing, and use the ArcMap tools to split the parcel as desired.
  3. Select the List By Drawing Order or List By Source tab in ArcMap, right-click the parcel layer, and select Open Attribute table.
  4. Click the Show selected records button below the attributes table to show only the newly created parcels selected in the map view, then scroll left or right to show the PRCLID and PRCLKEY columns.
  5. Change the PRCLIDs for both records to the new values, and change both of the PRCLKEYs to 0 (zero).
  6. Close the attributes window and save your edits. Next, select the newly created parcels on the map and click the Analyze and Reconcile Database Links button.
  7. Click both records displayed in the QAQC Results window, then right-click over the Key column and select Synchronize Record(s).
  8. After processing is complete, click Close.
