ArcMap setup

After GeoAdministrator is installed, you must configure ArcMap to show the GeoAdministrator tools.

  1. First, ArcMap must be set not to use templates to create new features. Open the ArcMap Advanced Settings Utility by running AdvancedArcMapSettings.exe in the ArcGIS\Desktop10.1\Utilities folder. On the Editor tab, ensure that the Create features using templates check box is unselected.
  2. Next, open ArcMap. Click the Customize menu and select Add-In Manager. On the Options tab, add the folder where you installed GeoAdministrator.
  3. Next, click the Customize button in the Add-In Manager to show the Customize dialog box. Click Add From File, then browse to the GeoAdministrator folder and add GDMTExtensions.dll.
  4. The Infor PS ArcGIS Extension should now be displayed in the list of available extensions. To enable the extension, click Customize in the ArcMap menu and select Extensions. Ensure that Infor PS ArGIS Extension is selected, then click Close. You may need to close and reopen ArcMap before the extension is displayed.
  5. To enable the GeoAdministrator toolbar, click Customize and select Toolbars.

After the preceding steps are completed, you should see the GeoAdministrator toolbar, as shown in this image.

  6. To connect to the Infor Operations and Regulations database, click the Attach/Detach button in the GeoAdministrator toolbar. This shows the Connect to Infor PS dialog box, where you can provide your user name and password for the associated instance of Infor Operations and Regulations. The correct database should already be displayed in the Database list. Specify a valid Infor Operations and Regulations user name and password and click LOG IN.
  7. If you have trouble connecting, you can double-check the Infor Operations and Regulations and Web Services URLs by opening V8Configuration.xml in the GeoAdministrator directory. This file stores the URLs that you entered in the installer when you installed GeoAdministrator.
