Creating a linear asset

  1. Select Asset Management > Assets > [asset module].
  2. On the tab for the correct linear asset type, under Asset Inventory, click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    "Asset" ID
    Specify an identification code for the asset.
    "Asset" Type
    Select the correct linear asset type. The available types are defined in Setup form for the linear asset.
    "Asset" Start
    Specify the starting measurement of the asset. Although linear assets typically start at 0.00, you can specify a non-zero number.
    "Asset" Length
    Specify the total length of the linear asset.
    "Asset" runs from
    Use the two list boxes to specify the direction of the linear asset, such as east to west.
  4. Click Save.
