Adding an attribute type to a linear asset type
- Select .
- On the tab for the correct linear asset type, under Configuration, click "Asset" Setup.
- In the tree, browse to the node under the correct asset type.
- Right-click the node and select Create Attribute Type.
- Specify this information:

Attribute Code

Specify an identification code for the attribute type.

Value Required

Select this check box if you want a value to be required when users add this type of attribute.

Attachment Method

Select the option that indicates how attributes of this type are attached to linear assets. You can select Point, Range, or Point or Range.

Attribute Type

Select the type of attribute. The attribute type specifies the type of value that the attribute takes. Additional fields may be displayed depending on the attribute type that you select. You can select one of these options:
- Date: The attribute takes a date value.
- Number: The attribute takes a numeric value. The Data Length and Decimal Places fields are displayed when you select this option.
- Text: The attribute takes a text value. The Data Length field is displayed when you select this option.
- List: The attribute value is selected from a list. The Validation field is displayed when you select this option. Use this field to specify the database table that will be used to validate the attribute value.

You can use this field to define a detail page for the attribute type. See "Agency Personalization" in the Infor Operations and Regulations User and Administration Library for more information about detail pages.
