This table describes the access groups under Billing in the Permissions tree:

Access group Description
Account Affects the Account items in the Billing menu.

Provides additional access control to various features and functionality related to managing accounts and account information, such as adding one-off charges, adding direct debit to an account, and managing the alerts on an account.
Account > Create Address Services Affects the Create Address Services item under Setup in the Billing menu.
Account > Direct Debit Grants access to direct debit functionality.
Account > Entitlement on Contact Affects the entitlement functionality on the Financial Information tab of the Contact InfoViewer.
Lookup Account Controls access to the Lookup Accounts page.
Manage Account Controls access to the Manage Account page.
Account > Setup Character Consumption Value Codes Grants access to set up the character code definitions in the Account Values box at the bottom of the Profile tab of Manage Account. These code definitions are turned on in the Account Value Titles form.
Account Types Grants access to the account types that your agency has defined.
Account Types > (account type) Grants access to the selected account type.
Account Types > (account type) > Account Contact Affects the Account Contacts grid accessed from Manage Account.
Account Types > (account type) > Alert Affects the Add Alert and View All Alerts links in Manage Account.
Account Types > (account type) > Assign Responsibility Affects the Assign Responsibility link in Manage Account.

Approval Levels Grants users the indicated approval level capability based on the approval levels defined in Approval Level in Billing Setup. The system shows a permission for each approval level that the agency has defined.
Arrangement Transactions Affects the Transactions grid in the Payment Arrangement InfoViewer.
Bankruptcy Affects the Record Bankruptcy link in Manage Account.
Bills-BillRun Affects the items under Bill in the Billing menu. This includes the Bill Run InfoViewer and links that open the Bill Run InfoViewer.
Budget Billing > Budget Billing Cancel Reason Grants access to set up the cancel reason code definitions.
Budget Billing > Cancel Plan Affects the Cancel Plan link in the Budget Billing Plan InfoViewer.
Budget Billing > Enroll Affects the Sign up for Budget Billing link in Manage Account.
Budget Billing > Manually Specify Budgeted Amount Affects the ability to edit the budgeted amount for annual calculations in the Budget Billing Plan InfoViewer.

  • The Manage Reading Cycles and Routes item in Billing Setup is controlled by Asset Management > Water > Meter > Meter Management > Meter Management > Manage Cycles & Billing Routes.
  • The Reading Route Setup item in Billing Setup is controlled by Asset Management > Water > Meter > Meter Management > Setup > Billing Route.
  • Access for banking information used as part of direct debit is controlled by Resource > Banking Info.
