Creating a group project with a standard work order
For example, if work orders created for a particular assignment will always have the same source, maintenance type, and problem code, you can use a standard work order to store that information.
If you want to use a standard work order as a template for the work orders in a group project, you can specify the name of the standard work order in the Standard Work Order field in the Add Activities and Assets dialog box.
If an activity has a default standard work order assigned to it, Infor Public Sector will automatically fill in that default when you enter the activity code. You can then continue to create the group project based on the default, or you can optionally enter the name of a different standard work order.
When you specify a standard work order for a group project, the fields in the Create Group Project form are not populated with the values from the standard work order. This is different from the behavior in the Create Work Order form, where the corresponding fields are automatically populated with the values from the standard work order.
Although the fields in the Create Group Project form are not populated, the values from the standard work order will be copied to each work order that is created for the group project, unless you specify other values in those fields. The values that you explicitly specify for the group project will override the values in the standard work order.
For example, suppose a standard work order specifies these values:
- Project: Project A
- Maint Type: Planned
- Budget #: 123456
If you specify Reactive in the Maint Type when creating a group project, but leave the Project and Budget # fields blank, then the group project's work orders will be created with these values:
- Project: Project A
- Maint Type: Reactive
- Budget #: 123456
