Creating a portal user for a contact

You can create Rhythm for Civics portal accounts for existing contacts in Infor Public Sector.

Depending on your configuration, users may also be able to create their own accounts through the Rhythm for Civics site. See the Infor Rhythm for Civics User and Administration Library on docs.infor.com for more information.

Note: You cannot create a portal profile for a contact information record in the back office if the parent contact is designated as an organization. An organization profile can only be created by a portal user in Rhythm for Civics on behalf of the organization. However, agency personnel can start the process by creating a contact in the back office and marking it as an organization, then inviting a representative to join the organization as an authorized user. The organization profile is created when the first user accepts the invitation.

  1. Select Resources > Contact and Property Browser.
  2. Look up the contact for whom you want to create a user account.
  3. RIght-click the contact's name in the Contacts tree and select Open Contact.
  4. Open an existing contact information record, or create a new one.
  5. Ensure that the contact information record includes an email address.
  6. Click Action and select Create Portal User.
  7. Specify this information:
    User Name
    Specify the contact's user name for the portal site.
    Security Question
    If your portal site uses security questions, specify the user's security question.
    Reset Password on Login
    Select this check box to require the user to enter a new password when first logging in to the portal site.
  8. Click Save.
