Calendar-based assignments

You can schedule service requests, work orders, asset inspections, CDR reviews, and CDR inspections by adding them to employees' calendars from the InfoViewers for these records.

For example, the Schedule the activity button is shown next to the Assigned to Employee field in the Review InfoViewer for CDR reviews. Use this button to access employees' calendars and schedule reviews. See the Asset Management, Customer Service, Work Management, and CDR user guides for more information.

Calendar events are configured using the CalendarManagement configuration in the Configuration Editor.

CalendarManagement config has a general default duration on the root node and a specific duration for each event.

Gray cells indicate times when employees are not available. Employee availability is defined in the Employee Availabilities grid. If the grid has any entries, then only those entries are used to determine the employee's schedule.

How duration is determined (otherwise the default in CalendarManagement config is used):

  • Asset inspections: Use the default values from the CalendarManagement config.
    Note: Assignment duration cannot be changed from the calendar, because asset inspections don't have a scheduled to date field.
  • Work orders: Use the default values from the CalendarManagement config.
  • Group project work orders
  • Scheduled maintenance work orders
  • Service requests: Inspection Duration fields in Request Type dialog box
  • CDR reviews
  • CDR inspections
