Associating Infor Operations and Regulations records

In addition to creating new records in the Infor Operations and Regulations database, you can use GeoAdministrator to associate existing records. You first select one or more feature representing the parent records, and then select the features for the records that you want to associate. You can search for features to associate within a set distance of the parents, or you can select them from the map.

  1. Start an ArcMap edit session and select one or more map features that are linked to records in the Infor Operations and Regulations database, such as addresses or parcels. These are the parent records to which other records will be linked.
  2. Click Associate Inventory on the GeoAdministrator toolbar.
GeoAdministrator shows the Associating Options dialog box.
  3. Under Layers to Search and Select, select each layer that contains features you want to associate with the parent features that you selected.
  4. If you want to enter search criteria, use the Search Method and Buffer (Feet) columns in the lower grid. You can enter different criteria for each selected parent. GeoAdministrator will search for features within the specified distance of the parents.
  5. Click Search.
The Associating Infor PS Object dialog box opens, and shows a node for each parent record that you selected. Child nodes under each parent represent the records that match your search criteria. If you entered no search criteria, the dialog box only shows the parent nodes, with no children.
  6. To add features to your selection, click a parent node in the list and then click each feature in the map that you want to associate with the selected parent.
  7. To remove a feature from the list, right-click the feature and select Remove feature. You can also select multiple features to remove them all at once.
  8. When you’ve selected the features you want to associate, click Associate.
