Scheduling a service request in the calendar

You can schedule service requests by adding them to employees' calendars from the Service Request InfoViewer.

  1. Open a service request in the InfoViewer.
    Note: You can also schedule a service request when you create one in Submit Service Request.
  2. Select the Inspection tab and click Edit.
  3. Optionally, specify an employee ID in the Inspector field.
  4. Click the Schedule button next to the Inspector field.
    The Resource Calendar popup opens. If you specified an employee ID before clicking Schedule, the popup shows that employee's calendar. If you did not specify an employee ID, you can look up employees.
  5. To look up employees, enter your criteria in the search fields above the calendar and click Search.
  6. To schedule an assignment, select an available time slot in the weekly calendar view.
    The duration of the assignment is set based on the Inspection Duration fields in the Request Type dialog box for the service request type. If no duration is specified on the request type, the default values from the CalendarManagement configuration are used.

    The start date is recorded in the Scheduled field but the end date is not recorded. Because there is no scheduled to date field, the duration of a service request assignment cannot be changed from the calendar.

    Note: You can also see a monthly view of an employee's calendar on the Month tab, but the information on this tab is display-only. Use the Week tab to schedule assignments.
  7. Click Select.
    The assignment is added to the employee's calendar.
  8. Click Save in the InfoViewer.
    You must save the current record to finish scheduling the calendar assignment.
