Duplicate request search

The duplicate request search feature uses GIS to locate existing requests in the same area when you start to create a new service request. If an existing request is found for the same issue, you can add a call to that service request rather than creating a new one.

To use this feature, GIS must be configured for your Infor Operations and Regulations. The duplicate search can be configured globally for all request types or for specific request types.

To configure the duplicate search globally, click Edit Global Settings for Service Request Type and select the Search For Duplicate Requests check box. These other elements define the search parameters:

  • If you select Same Request Type, Infor Operations and Regulations will only search for service requests of the same type.
  • Select Local Search Only to use the address X and Y coordinates from your database for the search, rather than the GIS. You must select this option if Infor Operations and Regulations is not kept in sync with the GIS in real time.
  • The GIS Search Radius field specifies the range in which Infor Operations and Regulations will search for duplicate requests.
  • The Created in the Last (Min) field specifies a time frame for the duplicate request search. If you enter 0, Infor Operations and Regulations will search all service requests.

To set different options for a specific request type, open the request type and select the Override Global Settings check box. Then enter the settings for that request type.
