About this guide
License overview
Infor Operations and Regulations handles the licensing processes for all of your agency's business licenses, starting from the time a customer files an application.
System setup
In addition to the settings that you enter for individual license types in License Workflow, there are certain defaults that apply to the entire License module.
License types
License types are the kinds of licenses that your agency handles, such as Food, Liquor, Kennel, or Garage.
Milestones
Individually, milestones define important points in the licensing process, such as when a license application is filed or when an endorsement is added to a license. Taken together, the milestones form the entire licensing process for a license type, from initial filing to renewal.
Standard operating procedures
You can define standard operating procedures for application types and for milestones. Standard operating procedures provide instructions or reminders for agency staff to follow when processing applications.
Field constraints
Field constraints define the basic characteristics of the information that can be recorded for an application, such as whether certain information is required, display-only, or not present.
Attachment constraints
Attachment constraints limit the types of documents that can be attached to licenses in Infor Operations and Regulations and Rhythm for Civics. You can also use attachment constraints to require certain types of documents to be attached.
Inspection types
Inspection types are the kinds of inspections that your agency may require for a license, such as health, fire, or occupancy load inspections.
Periodic inspection schedules
Periodic inspection schedules establish the intervals at which Infor Operations and Regulations automatically generates the periodic inspections for your agency's business licenses.
Review types
Review types are the kinds of reviews that your agency may require for a license, such as a zoning review or a background check.
Condition types
Condition types are the general requirements that must be satisfied for a license to continue through its licensing process. Whereas reviews and inspections involve detailed processing within your agency, conditions are verified and approved by entering an approval code.
Endorsement types
Infor Operations and Regulations uses endorsements to record additional rights granted to a licensee to provide products or services that are not covered by a license.
Fee types
Fee types are the kinds of fees that your agency charges for license applications, such as filing or license renewal fees. All fee types are defined centrally in the Fee Library so that they can be reused across multiple license types.
Status checks
Status checks determine when a license can advance to the next milestone.
License renewal
You can use Infor Operations and Regulations to establish when and how your agency renews its trade licenses.
Details
Details are pieces of information that your agency wants to record for certain licenses, reviews, inspections, and endorsements, such as operational hours of a liquor store, instructions to correct a health code violation, or specific information uncovered during a background check.
License status codes
Code violations
To record problems discovered during an inspection or review, such as zoning violations, members of your agency must have access to a list of valid code violations.
Violation groups
Violation groups are sets of code violations that can be used in inspections. Before members of your agency can record a code violation to an inspection, the code violation must be associated with the type of inspection.
Inspection assignment groups
Infor Operations and Regulations uses inspection assignments to automatically assign inspectors to inspections based on information recorded in an application, such as its location.
Inspection result codes
To record inspection in Infor Operations and Regulations results you must specify a result code. The available result codes are defined using Code Definition Management on the Resources menu.
Review assignment groups
Infor Operations and Regulations uses review assignments to automatically assign a reviewer to a review based on information recorded in an application, such as its location.
Review result codes
To record review results in Infor Operations and Regulations you must specify a result code. Review result codes are standard code definitions, but they include some additional data that determines how Infor Operations and Regulations will process reviews.
Filter codes
You may want to limit the codes that agency staffers have to choose from when processing applications, reviews, and inspections.
