Defining a case type

Case types are the kinds of cases that your agency handles. Defining a case type is the first step in setting up the code enforcement process for that case type.

Select Code Enforcement > Setup > Case Workflow.
In the Case Types tree, browse to the node in which you want to define a case type.
This can be the Case Types root node or a "Case Category" node.
Right-click the node and select Create Case Type.
Type a name for the new case type in the Case Type field.
Type a description of the case type in the Description field.
If your agency uses Dynamic Portal, select an option from the Display Dynamic Portal User list.
This option indicates which type of users can select this case type when initiating cases in Dynamic Portal.
Specify any other information about the case type.
You can calculate an expiration date for a case type using the Case Expiration Date Formula field. You can define any standard operating procedures for this case type. If you select the Allow Supervisor Override check box, supervisors with the correct permissions in Access Control can advance cases to the next milestone even if they haven't met all the status checks for the current one. You can specify a description that will be shown to Dynamic Portal users in the Dynamic Portal Description field.
Click Save.
Infor Operations and Regulations closes the dialog box and shows the new case type in the Case Types tree.
Define the necessary supporting information for the case type, such as inspections, fees, and milestones.
You can define milestones for the case type, and define the condition types, define the inspection types, define the review types, and add the fee types that the case type will use. To associate this information with a specific milestone, you can define this information under the milestone node instead. You will also want to associate violation groups with cases types.
When you're finished defining case types, click Close and set up access control for each type.
