Asset inspection exchange

You can export and import asset inspections so they can be completed in an external CCTV system.

The inspection exchange functionality is currently supported for these asset types:

  • Sewer main
  • Sidewalk
  • Street segment
Note: These are the only asset types that are supported out of the box, but the inspection exchange functionality can be configured for additional asset types as needed. You can contact Infor Global Professional Services for assistance.

The inspections are exported from Infor Operations and Regulations to a Microsoft Access database (.accdb or .mdb), from where they can be imported into the CCTV system. After the inspections are completed in the CCTV system they are sent back to Microsoft Access and then imported into Infor Operations and Regulations. You can also import inspection images from the CCTV system.

Although the import process usually is based on a previous export, you can also import new inspections that were created outside of Infor Operations and Regulations.

Inspection export is based on group inspections in Infor Operations and Regulations, so you must either create a group of new inspections or add existing inspections to a group inspection.

In addition to the inspections belonging to the selected group, the export includes associated observations, supporting code definitions, and employee records. Employees are selected for export based on their job classifications, so only designated inspectors are included.

The inspection exchange functionality uses the Infor Operations and Regulations Batch Manager. You do not need to set up a task in the Batch Manager, because there are separate forms in Infor Operations and Regulations to initiate the export and import processes, but the Batch Manager must be installed and running.

In an on-premises environment, you must first install the Microsoft Access ACE driver on the application server.

See Installing the Microsoft Access ACE driver.
