Searching in a map extent

An extent is the portion of the map that you're currently viewing. Usually a search covers the entire map, but you can also limit your search to the current extent.

  1. Navigate to the extent that you want to search in.
  2. Click Search & Options.
  3. Click the Search and Query tab.
  4. Select the type of record you're searching for from the Common list or the Other list.
  5. Enter your search criteria.
  6. Click Search in Extent.
