Recording a meter reading

  1. Load the meter into the Meter InfoViewer.
  2. On the Life History tab, under Usage, click Details.
  3. Click Add above the grid.
  4. Specify this information:
    Reading Date
    Ensure that the correct date and time are shown.
    Reading
    Specify the current meter reading.

    Click Record Zero Reading if the reading is 0.00. Because the default value for the Reading field is 0.00, clicking the link indicates that you have deliberately entered a 0.00 reading. Clicking the link also replaces any value that you have entered with 0.00.

    Note: If the reading is for a compound meter with two single registers, two fields are shown: High Register Reading and Low Register Reading. The total reading is the sum of these two values.
    Cycle
    If this meter reading is part of a billing cycle, select this check box.
    Calculate Usage
    Optionally, click this link to see the meter's accumulated usage, billable usage, and average daily usage since its previous reading.
    Estimate
    If you are unable to get an accurate reading, select this check box to indicate that the reading is an estimate.
    Ready to Bill
    Select this check box if you are ready to bill the associated account for this reading.
    Bill Zero Usage
    Click this link if the billable usage for the reading is zero. This sets the value in the Billable Usage field to 0.00.
  5. Click Save.
