Creating a GIS mapping

  1. Select System > GIS Synchronization > GIS Mapping > Create GIS Mapping.
  2. Specify this information:
    Name
    Specify a name for the GIS mapping.
    IPS Component Type
    Select the Infor Public Sector component that you are mapping to the GIS data source. You can select Address, Asset, Parcel, or Property. If you select Asset, use the Asset Type list to select the asset type.
    GIS Provider
    Select the GIS provider that contains the service that you want to use for this mapping. The available providers are defined in the MapDrawerProviders configuration in the Configuration Editor. When you are creating a new mapping, the drop-down list for the GIS Provider field only shows providers that been upgrade to use the REST map services.

    Note: If this mapping will synchronize data from Infor Public Sector to the GIS, the selected provider must use a map service that allows updates.

    GIS Service
    Select the GIS service that contains the layer that you want to use for this mapping.
    GIS Layer
    Select the layer in the GIS service that corresponds to the Infor Public Sector component that you selected.
    Active Mapping
    Select this check box to make the mapping active. You can only synchronize data for active mappings.
    Add Record Actions
    Select the options that indicate what you want to do when orphans are detected in either database. You can create new records in Infor Public Sector, the GIS, or both.
    Code Value Actions
    Indicates whether you want the synchronization process to add code definition values to the Infor Public Sector database when new values are detected in the GIS. If you select Do not add a new record to the IPS Code Table, the process will return an error if a code definition in the GIS doesn't have a matching value in Infor Public Sector.

    In addition to code definitions, this setting also applies to street definitions for street segment assets, and to rail definitions for rail segment assets.

    Note: The synchronization process only adds code definitions in Infor Public Sector. There is no mechanism to export code definitions from Infor Public Sector to the GIS.
    Export All GIS Fields
    Select this check box if you want the synchronization process to export all fields from the GIS layer. If you don't select this check box, then only the mapped fields will be exported. For example, you might want to use fields that aren't mapped in a before record sync formula, so you would need to select this check box to export them.
    Resync After Import
    Select this check box if you want to repeat the synchronization after the import process is complete. For example, your system may have workflow formulas that alter the records in Infor Public Sector after they're imported from the GIS. The resync will send the updated fields back to the GIS after the workflow formulas are executed.
    Require GIS Export Data
    Select this check box to stop processing if no data is exported from the GIS.
    Default Responsibility
    Responsibility code that will be assigned to the sync audits created for this mapping.
    GIS Time Zone
    Time zone that you want to use for this mapping, if different from the time zone in the GIS. This is used for the Created Date Field and Modified Date Field lists.

    Geometry Tolerance
    Set the tolerance for comparing geometry values between Infor Public Sector and the GIS. This indicates how closely the geometries must match to be considered the same. Use the Geometry Tolerance Unit field to specify the unit of measure.
    Sync Audit Log Level
    Specify the log level to create sync audit records. You can limit the sync audits that are created to improve performance. Select one of these options:
    • None: No sync audits are created.
    • All: All sync audits are created.
    • Error: Sync audits are only created if they have errors or require user intervention.
    Primary Key Field
    Select the field that serves as the primary key for features in the GIS layer.

    The drop-down list shows each field that is marked as a primary key in the MapDrawerProviders configuration. If the field that you want to use as the primary key is not shown, you can set the Primary Key attribute for that field in the configuration to True. Fields are found under the SERVERS > server name > DATASETS > dataset name > FIELDS node.

    Geometry Sync Direction
    Select the direction in which geometry data will be synchronized for this mapping. You can select one of these options:
    • IPS >> GIS: Geometry values are synchronized from Infor Public Sector to the GIS database.
    • IPS << GIS: Geometry values are synchronized from the GIS database to Infor Public Sector.
      Note: If you're using this option, records in Infor Public Sector will not be expired if the corresponding GIS features are deleted. We recommend that you expire GIS features instead.

    • IPS << >> GIS: Geometry values can be synchronized in either direction, depending on which database has been updated more recently. When a change is detected in either database, the corresponding record in the other database will be updated as well.
    • Exclude: The sync process will create records and synchronize attributes in Infor Public Sector, but will not import the geometry.
  3. Add field mappings.
