Configuring the annotation tool

After you've set up your annotation service in ArcGIS Server, the next step is to configure the annotation tool. The annotation tool is displayed as a popup window when the user selects Drawings from the Tools menu in the Map Browser. It includes several different tabs, each of which is configured separately.

To configure the annotation tool, first add the TOOLS node to the MapDrawerDatasets configuration. Then add the ANNOTATIONS node as a child of the TOOLS node. For the service attribute, specify the URL of your annotation feature service.

To define the different parts of the annotation tool, you will add children to the ANNOTATIONS node.
