Creating contacts on the fly

This topic explains how to create new contact identity records while you're adding other types of records, such as service requests or permit applications. You can also create contact records using the Contact and Property Browser.

The contact fields are displayed in a Contact group box on various pages, such as Submit Service Request. You can use these fields to enter an existing contact, or create a new one.

  1. Type the contact's name and any other information that you have in the fields under Contact.
  2. Click the popup button to the right of the Name field.
The Search Contact dialog box is shown. The Contacts grid in this box lists any contact records that match the information that you entered. For example, if you only entered the last name "Smith," the grid shows all contacts with that last name.

An Add New Contact link is shown above the grid. Below the grid, Infor Public Sector shows another link with the contact name you entered in italic font, preceded by the words "Create a new name of," such as "Create a new name of Smith." You can use either of these links to create a new contact record.

  3. Click the Add New Contact link.
Infor Public Sector opens the Create Contact dialog box. Any information that you've already entered for the new contact is displayed in the fields in this box.
  4. Provide any additional information about the contact.
See the Contact and Property Browser help for details on the various types of information that you can enter.
  5. Click Save.
