Asset organizations
Agencies that comprise multiple organizations might have a large number of assets in the database, so filtering makes it easier for users to find the right assets, and prevents them from accessing assets outside their organization. For example, filtering by organization limits the assets that are available when an employee adds a new inspection or work order.
To filter assets by organization, you must enable the multi-organization feature. Select the Enable Multi-Organization attribute to True.
node in the Hansen8 configuration and set theIf the multi-organization feature is enabled, then an employee who is assigned to an organization will only have access to assets that are assigned to the same organization, or that do not have an organization. Employees who are not assigned to an organization have access to all assets.
To assign an employee to an organization, use the Organization field on the Information tab of the Employee InfoViewer.
To associate an asset with an organization, use the Organization field on the Associated tab of the asset InfoViewer.
Filters are applied in the asset lookups and when users work with asset records in other parts of Infor Public Sector. For example, assets are filtered by organization in these cases:
- Work orders
- Inspections
- Maintenance schedules
- Asset groups
- Service requests
- Equipment and vehicle costs
- Risk analysis
- CDR applications (if assets are enabled as sites)
