Asset organizations

Asset organizations are an optional feature that you can use to filter the assets that are available to employees.

Agencies that comprise multiple organizations might have a large number of assets in the database, so filtering makes it easier for users to find the right assets, and prevents them from accessing assets outside their organization. For example, filtering by organization limits the assets that are available when an employee adds a new inspection or work order.

To filter assets by organization, you must enable the multi-organization feature. Select the RUNTIMEFLAGS node in the Hansen8 configuration and set the Enable Multi-Organization attribute to True.

If the multi-organization feature is enabled, then an employee who is assigned to an organization will only have access to assets that are assigned to the same organization, or that do not have an organization. Employees who are not assigned to an organization have access to all assets.

To assign an employee to an organization, use the Organization field on the Information tab of the Employee InfoViewer.

Note: If the integration of Infor Public Sector with Infor HR Talent is enabled, employee organizations can also be imported from HR Talent. See "Resources" in the Infor Public Sector User and Administration Library for information about the HR Talent integration.

To associate an asset with an organization, use the Organization field on the Associated tab of the asset InfoViewer.

Filters are applied in the asset lookups and when users work with asset records in other parts of Infor Public Sector. For example, assets are filtered by organization in these cases:

  • Work orders
  • Inspections
  • Maintenance schedules
  • Asset groups
  • Service requests
  • Equipment and vehicle costs
  • Risk analysis
  • CDR applications (if assets are enabled as sites)
