Deleting asset groups

Deleting an asset group only removes the asset group record, not the assets that belong to the group.

If the only other records an asset group is linked to are maintenance schedules and inspection schedules, you can delete it. If an asset group is linked to other records, such as an LOS project, you cannot delete it.

  1. Select Asset Management > Asset Grouping > Lookup Asset Groups.
  2. Look up the asset groups that you want to delete.
  3. Select one or more asset groups in the lookup grid.
  4. Click Action and select Delete Selected Items.
    A dialog box is displayed confirming that you want to delete the selected asset groups. The dialog box also shows the number of maintenance schedules and inspection schedules the asset group is linked to.
  5. Click OK.
