Note: After creating a new
inspection type, you must assign permissions to the inspection type in Access
Control.
- Select Asset Management > Assets > [Asset Module].
- On the correct asset type tab, under Configuration, click Inspection Types.
-
In the Inspection
Types tree, click the root Inspection Types node.
A grid is displayed on the right listing all the inspection types that have been defined for the current asset type.
- Click Add above the grid.
-
Specify this information:
- Inspection Type
- Specify a name for the inspection type.Note: The name must be unique within the inspection types for the asset type, but it can be reused with other asset types. Also note that the name is case-sensitive.
- Standard
- For sewer main inspection types only, you can optionally select a standard inspection type to use as a template.
- Observations
- Select one of these options:
- Full Length: All observations for this inspection type are recorded for the entire inspection length. The inspection length is the portion of an asset being inspected.
- Measured: Location fields are displayed when you add observations, so you can record observations for a measured portion of the inspection length.
- None: The inspection type does not use observations.
- Sample Unit: A sample unit represents a selected portion of the asset, such as a ten foot square section of roadway pavement where the pattern of cracking is judged to be typical of the whole roadway. You can define one or more sample units.
- Use Components
- Select this check box if you want to conduct inspections on individual parts of an asset.
- Show in Portal

Infor Rhythm for Civics.
