Adding a sample unit to an asset inspection

If the inspection type is configured to use observations based on sample units, you can add sample units to an inspection when you create it, or by selecting the SampleUnits tab for an existing inspection in the Inspection InfoViewer.

  1. Click Add above the Sample Units grid.
  2. Specify this information:
    Sample Unit
    Specify a name or code for the sample unit.
    Description
    Enter a description of the sample unit.
    Length
    Specify the length of the sample unit.
    Width
    Specify the width of the sample unit.
    Note: The Units column in the Sample Units grid shows the unit of meaure for the length and width. The default unit is feet, but if feet are disabled in the UnitsOfMeasure configuration, then the next active unit of length in the configuration is used instead.
  3. Click Save.
