Defining a roadway distance marker

Distance markers are designations that you can use to either measure your roadway, such as with a Milepost distance marker, or correct inaccurate distance markers, such as with an AdjustMile distance marker.

Note that Infor Public Sector stores distance markers in categories, called distance marker types. For example, an AdjustMile marker might be displayed within a marker type called Miles. Before you create a distance marker, you must first define the marker type that the distance marker will fall under. Marker types are displayed as nodes in the Distance Marker tree, but the specific markers are displayed only in grids when you click marker type nodes.

See Defining a roadway distance marker type.

  1. Select Asset Management > Assets > Roadway.
  2. On the Roadway tab, under Configuration, click Roadway Setup.
  3. In the Roadway Types tree, browse to the distance marker type node in which you want to add a new distance marker.
  4. Right-click the "Distance Marker Type" node and click Create Distance Marker.
  5. Type a name for the new distance marker in the Distance Marker Name field.
  6. Type a description of the marker in the Description field.
  7. Click Save.
