Performance tuning

If you have a particularly large database, you can make some adjustments in the AutoComplete configuration to improve the performance of the AutoComplete service. The default values in the configuration are optimized for datasets with fewer than 100,000 records.

The size of the database affects both the indexing speed of the AutoComplete service and the speed with which AutoComplete results are displayed in Infor Public Sector. These are the attributes in the AutoComplete configuration that affect the indexing speed:

  • Batch Size
  • Max Buffered Docs
  • Max Merge Docs
  • Merge Factor

These are the attributes that affect the speed with which results are displayed:

  • Enable Fuzzy Searches
  • Max Buffered Docs
  • Max Merge Docs
  • Merge Factor
  • Only Top Searches
  • Proximity Search
  • Zero Result Fuzzy Search

The optimum values for these attributes will depend on factors that are unique to each client, such as the size of the database and the hardware specifications.
