Resetting the secret for an IPS authorized app

You can reset the client secret of an authorized application. The process varies depending on whether your environment is configured to conceal the client secret.

If the environment is not configured to hide the client secret, click the Regenerate link next to the Secret field, either when adding a new authorized app or when editing an existing one.

If the environment is configured to hide the client secret, no link is shown next to the Secret field when you add an authorized app. When you open an existing authorized app in the InfoViewer, the secret in the Secret is masked and a Reset Secret is shown next to it.

When you click Reset Secret a new code is generated and shown in the Secret field. It is masked again after you click Save.
