Adding a control to a page

  1. Open the page that you want to edit in the Page Editor.
  2. Click Controls and select the type of control that you want to add.
  3. Move the control to the position on the page where you want to place it.
There are several ways to position a control on a page.
    • You can use your mouse to drag and drop the control.
    • You can use the arrow keys on your keyboard. Press an arrow key to move the control one pixel, or press ctrl + an arrow key to move the control five pixels.
    • You can use the Align button to align one or more controls.
    • For some control types, you can use the control properties to set the position.
Note: If you add a button control to a toolbar, you must set the Top property of the button to 0. Otherwise the button will not be displayed correctly in the toolbar.
  4. Select the control to show its properties.
The control properties are displayed on the right side of the screen.
  5. Set the control's properties.
If you're adding an edit box, a search range, a drop-down box, a check box, an HTML area, or a grid you must bind it to a business object property.

    See Binding controls.

  6. Click File and select Save.
